I love Auntie Katie

Auntie Katie flew all the way across the country just to see me! Well, I think there were some other people she wanted to see too, but I am just a baby and everything in my mind revolves around me! When I first met her I go so excited that I spit up right on her shirt. Not a good move, but she didn't seem to mind. She held me, rocked me, and massaged my back. She came over again the next day and made everyone homemade southern bisquits and gravy. The whole house smelled yummy. Mommy's milk tasted that much sweeter. It was so fun to have Katie around. I can't wait to see her again.

Big accomplishment

Zealand is desperate to master the art of thumbsucking. He can usually get his whole fist in his mouth while slurping loudly. Once in a blue moon he will get his thumb only.

Smiley boy

Starting at 5 weeks the wide toothless grins have really kicked in. Today we got our first true giggle out of him. Him and daddy shared a good laugh this morning. And, before that after an early feed he couldn't stop smiling at me and holding my attention with his big blues. Such a happy little guy!

Relaxing in Tahoe

Zealand seemed to enjoy Tahoe as much as we do. He spent his fourth of July vacation napping on mom, dad, grandma, and grandpa and sitting on the deck in his bouncy seat. He completed his first hike at Echo Lake and spent some time on the shores of Lake Tahoe. We also celebrated daddy's birthday with a barbeque and homemade strawberry-rhubarb pie. We were also treated to many more Zealand smiles on this trip. We think it had something to do with the mountain air..
