Named after our first son, Zealand Skye, this blog is dedicated to the lives of our two children, Zealand and Avery. We strive for many adventures together as a family of four by the sea, land, and sky.

Our little nature lover
We just returned from a 3 day camping trip in Kings Canyon. Zealand loved it! He seemed at home in the mountains and slept beautifully in the tent (on towels at our heads in the rear of the tent). Grandpa Richard met up with us well and helped make our first camping trip as smooth as possible by graciously handling food/cleanup and even helping out with Z's tub bath. Duane and I both camped here as children. It was neat to start a new generation out in the Sierra's. We hiked the 9 mile Mist Trail to a waterfall and Z bobbed along mostly content - sleeping and cooing as he took in the tall peaks, shadows, and trees around him. A most excellent first family camping trip! Thanks again Grandpa for all of your help, and most of all your company!
